Wedding Planning, Photography and Videography Information & Facts

   Planning

Q. Do I have to pick only a package or can I mix with Ala Carte?
A. No, you don't have to. You can add Ala Carte items to any package. This is where our team of professional Wedding Planners will help you and your fianceé make all of your Wedding Day Dreams a reality.

Q. How do I pick a Wedding Planner?
A. There are several ways I would suggest.
1. Call Wedding Coordinators/Planners until you reach one you are comfortable planning with. (Do they answer the phone, email promptly).
2. Check them out on the local Chamber of Commerce website.
3. Give the planner somewhat of a trivial problem to deal with and see how they react; in other words test them a little to see how they are under pressure.
4. Ask the Coordinator/Planner how long they have been planning weddings and if they have previous Brides and Grooms you may contact as references?
5. Beware of choosing a Coordinator/Planner based solely on them being a member of trade organizations. These are purely business promotion organizations and although some of them may try to have a criteria to be a member it all comes down to who a company may be friends with. These organizations do accept start up companies.

If you feel comfortable at this point, you will be fine.

Q. There are so many locations; Beaches, Churches, Private Estates etc. How do I Choose?
A. Size, Privacy, Type of setting, these all play a part in your decision. This is where having a good planner to help you, and feeling comfortable with them, will make your decisions easy and stress free.

Q. Do I need a blood test?
A. At the present time No you do not. However there is a 24 hour waiting period after your license app. is received.
Ask your wedding planner for details.

Q. I've been divorced, how long do I have to wait to re-marry?
A. If you have been divorced you must bring your divorce decree.

Q. Should I plan my wedding for morning or sunset?
A. The choice is completely up to you. There are major differences in the two such as Lighting, Temperature, Privacy, etc. and should be discussed with your  Wedding Coordinator.

Q. Photo and Video is just Photo and Video, Right?
A. NO!! The type of photo and video equipment and experience of the professionals you choose is very important. Although it will be very beautiful at your wedding, conditions change quickly and a seasoned professional is a must.

Q. How do I choose a Photographer/Videographer?
A. Review their work and ask questions suchas:
1. Is your equipment professional and what is the make and model used?
2. Check B&H Photo and confirm the equipment is of professional grade.
(as this is where many professionals purchase their equipment)
3. How long have you been a professional photographer/videographer?
4. Are Wireless Mics used for the video?
5. Ask for references.

Photography

Photography is an important part of your Special Day - that is why it is always good to let the professionals capture your memories that will last forever!

We send our very best to you! Darlene & Dave wish to share your Special Day with you and look forward to working for, and with you to ensure your day is the best it can be! With over 20 years of experience, both Darlene & Dave
pride themselves in excellent customer service!

When choosing your photography package, there are a couple of points to consider.  First, determine whether you would like to work with a professional who gives the CD in their packages or one who does not. Remember, there are professionals who feel it is important for you to take your photo's & CDs with you, to ease the process of reprints & enlargements for you.  Although we at Frames In Time do include the CD in some of our packages, we would be happy to accommodate you with your reprinting/enlargement orders as well. Remember; just because you receive your CD in your package, does not mean you are not dealing with a highly qualified and reputable company. We have been in this business for over 20 years,  we love what we do, and it shows in our work!

Secondly, ask yourself 'what do I want from my photo's?'. Do you plan to make enlargements? If so, what size?
The 35mm Digital Cameras of today will allow for up to a 16x20 enlargement before losing any clarity. Any larger and the photo may develop a 'grainy' effect.

We will assist you in every way to make your day a "Day to Remember"
If portraits are desired, we would be happy to accommodate you with this as well.

Videography

Videography is very important when planning your Destination Wedding. There are a few things that should be considered when choosing a video company, such as Digital video equipment, wireless sound, and music.

DVD
There are several types of DVDs and DVD players out there and they are not all alike. Some of the different types are  DVD+R, DVD-R, and Glass Mastered. Although there are many differences, the biggest of which is Glass Mastered (the ONLY TYPE that WILL play in any DVD player). DVD-R is the most widely used however they will only play in a Compatible DVD player. For a list of compatible players contact your videographer or consult the information included with your DVD player.

Music
When choosing your music consider the tempo of your video and share this with your videographer as this will make your video much better. The tempo and mood of the video are set by the music.  Although you are in the spotlight, it is the music that will set the mood.

Choosing Your Videographer
You should discuss all aspects of your video with your videographer; remember there are no dumb questions. It is better to ask than be surprised later. You should be able to contact your videographer easily. We offer a Toll-Free number (877-686-3686) in which to be contacted and welcome any questions. Always try to view a videographers work prior to hiring be it via the internet or a demo. Take into consideration that editing has been done. This will be a good way to view a videographers style.

Video Equipment
Digital is the only way. As in all things there are many different levels of camera. One simple way to judge the quality is the size of  the chips in the camera. There are 1/3,1/2,and 2/3 inch available, all of which will do a fine job.  Remember, there are no dumb questions!

Video Locations
Lighting is the main concern for your video when choosing a location. Because video cameras do not have a flash, lighting is very important. You should avoid shooting directly at the sun.

Wireless Sound
The sound should always be wireless as this is the only way.
CAMERA MOUNTED MICROPHONES CANNOT BE HEARD.

These are just some of the things that can make your video great. Please visit, call or email
